We use a lot of images on our site. For every article and page that gets created we spend time thinking and talking about what single image we should use to support the thought or convey a message.
Sometimes that means we will miss the mark, sometime it means an article gets a life of its own that we never predicted. There's definitely a fickle element to that but it's nice to think that, sometimes, the choices we've made have had an effect.
All artists like their work to be credited, and we like to credit the artists. It doesn't always "work" to place that credit on a page, so while we will credit photos we've used for articles at the end of articles, we will also credit all the images here.
There are two main places we source our pictures, Creative Commons and DreamsTime.
We use Creative Commons for most, if not all, of our Articles, and several other places as well. It's great if you've got "an idea" in your head and want something to suggest it, or show it.

Dreamstime is used a lot for "Stock Photos", and especially for abstract images. It's a Royalty Free photo repository, and has it's own "free" section as well, which also uses CC licenses, which we're happy to credit here. All of the below are © creativecommonsstockphotos - Dreamstime.com
The one exception is the Copyright image on this page which uses a different RE-LI licence.
